Docklands property |
||||||||
Situated two miles East of Canary Wharf are the once thriving Royal Docks (The Royal Albert, The Royal Victoria and The King George V Docks) which were closed in 1981. The regeneration of the East London Waterways and the construction of the London City Airport has transformed this whole area. The construction of Britannia Village has seen the development gather momentum with projects such as the Dockland Light Railway. Future plans include the expansion of Canary Wharf, further extension of the Docklands Light Railway and the building of a huge 156,000 sq ft aquarium. The coming of the 2012 Olympics will ensure the continued expansion of the Thames Gateway and the importance of the Docklands area to investment strategies. |
